Manchester United beat Wolfsburg 2-1 Champions League
Manchester United 2 - Wolfsburg 1 Champions League, September 30, 2009. United were forced to substitute an injured Michael Owen after 20 minutes; Dimitar Berbatov came off the bench and looked to make a difference, although Wolfsburg also looked dangerous in attack. Old Trafford fell silent ten minutes into the second half, Hasebe lofted a lovely left-footed ball to the far post where Bosnian star Edin Dzeko (offside?) beat Evra to crash home a header. But United were soon level as Ryan Giggs (what a season he’s having!) saw his free-kick deflect wickedly off the wall to end up in the net. With 13 minutes remaining United moved ahead, Rooney, Berbatov and Giggs were all involved before Michael Carrick bent the ball into the top left corner.
